Dian Pelangi was proud to represent her Indonesian heritage at the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week S/S 2014 this October 2013. She wore a traditional batik scarf as a headscarf, as well as an Indonesian skirt and clutch. She was happy to note that many street style photographers - including The Sartorialist - appreciated the Indonesian elements of her looks throughout the week. Today's Chic Read comes from professional writer Caitlin Seida, whose life changed the day one of her photos went viral on the internet. Her initial amusement at the photo quickly disappeared when commenters spewed hateful remarks, such as, "[People] like her should be put down." Caitlin, however, turned the situation around, instead choosing to address the commenters, a majority of whom were female, and each surprised to find out that there was a human on the other side of the photo they had callously mocked.
